Learn more about Gambro’s successful recovery work from the earthquakes that occurred at the end of May in Medolla, Italy
Oct 09, 2012 09:00 BSTGambro has in less than three months set up interim facilities in Crevalcore, Modena and Poggio Rusco near Medolla. The buildings, which have been built to withstand earthquakes, are fully operative.
Since May, Gambro has been doing its outmost to ensure continuity of patient care and to make sure our customers have the products they need to treat their patients. In this context Gambro would like to express its gratitude for the support and cooperation of our customers and suppliers.
Gambro has been fully operational since end of August thanks to the recovery measures taken which proved to be very successful.
In mid August, we re-started production of the Artis andPhoenixmonitors and spare parts in our new plant in Crevalcore. Furthermore we have resumed production of the Artis cassettes and bloodline components in a new temporary plant in Poggio Rusco. A new automated warehouse was established inVareseand new offices were also set up inModenawith R&D, quality departments and all other support functions.
Most of our employees have been back to work since August and the manufacturing employees plus additional resources are working multiple shifts to ensure supply.
Please find below an update on the supply situation.
- The manufacturing of monitors and spare parts is up and running and we do not foresee any significant limitation in the supply for the next months.
- The Artis cassettes for HD have been available since end of June and we anticipate that the Artis cassettes for HDF online treatment, Single Needle and AFB will be available by end of November.
- Most models of conventional bloodlines and accessories will be offered by the beginning of next year.
