Renal Recovery After Acute Kidney Injury: Clinical and Health Economic Considerations, Dr. Max Bell Karolinska University Hospital,Stockholm,Sweden
The evidence base pertaining to the management of critically ill patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) continues to evolve. In this symposium, experts will focus on two recent developments specifically in the area of renal replacement therapy (RRT) for AKI. First, RRT-related consensus statements from the recently issued KDIGO AKI Guideline will be discussed, with particular emphasis on modality choice and anticoagulation. In the second presentation, emerging data which strongly suggest a benefit for CRRT over intermittent RRT modalities with respect to renal recovery after AKI will be presented. Both the clinical and health economic implications of these new data will be discussed.
Furthermore, visitors will be able to visit Gambro’s exciting exhibition with focus on FleXitrate full citrate-calcium CRRT. Products on display will be Prismaflex and MARS machines, as well as solutions. Also, the scientific messages will be further reinforced in the Gambro booth, containing a dedicated scientific corner.
Let us share our experience and knowledge with you and discuss it further.
